My name is Dan Shannon, and I founded DPS Consulting to provide professional firearms instruction and personal defense education for responsible citizens and families throughout South Florida.
With more than 20 years of firearms experience, I have dedicated my career to developing practical skills, teaching safe firearm handling, and helping individuals become more capable and confident firearm owners. My approach is built on the belief that effective training should be professional, approachable, and grounded in real-world application.
Trained, Certified, and Committed
I am an NRA Chief Range Safety Officer, NRA Certified Firearms Instructor, and NRA Law Enforcement Handgun Instructor. In addition, I hold certifications as a Stop the Bleed Instructor, GLOCK Advanced Armorer, M4/M16/AR15 Armorer, PPCI OCAT (Pepper Spray) Instructor, and PPCI Practical and Tactical Handcuffing Instructor.
